Searching for the San Tropez Tan

Well, Today was the boat to San Tropez. It was crowded with mortly European  tourists. My opportunity to be assertive. When I fist got on and found a choice seat on the top deck, this lovely French woman took the rest of the bench saying there ould not be enough room for her group. I said I would move and she began to laugh as if I was a patsy. I explained how rude she was and she could pound sand before  would move. She moved.

The boat was full of beautiful people. One guy even had pink sneakers to match his shirt. Great people watching.

On the way the boat stopped at Cannes.

Finally the boat arrived! Off I went with enthusiasm. I began to head down the main street. shops were so crowded that you could not even go into look. (Unlikely that I would buy- I am a Burlington Coat Factory kind of guy.) You went the way of the mob and I ended up in the Saturday market. It was very colorful and everything was for sale from produce and to antiques. It reflected the wealth of the residents. There were no bargains. Lots of people and the sun was relentless. I grabbed a some French lunch snack and went to look for a little shade to sit in.. I was unable to find any. I began to fry. I really needed to find a place in the shade. I finally found a small pasterrie and I sat and nursed a cup of coffee for 2 hours.
All in all, San Tropez is beautiful and quaint. It is the best place to people watch but I would not go in the summer again. Too hot! Too crowded!

I made it home for a late supper. I went to the small cafe down the street. The meal was outstanding. The appetizer as St Marcellin cheese broiled on toast and then served on greens and tomato with oil and vinegar. Fantastic as was the homemade rigatoni with a cream sauces with a variety of mushroom, topped with slivers of Parmesan cheese.
As I was finishing lightening appeared in the sky, the winds came up and I made it back before the rain.
